GSM how does it work?
A GSM phone is merely a vessel. The phone will take on the identity and rate plan of the SIM card installed into it. The SIM card slides into the cell phone and connects you to the local carrier. The SIM card fits into the back of the phone, usually under the battery, and is very similar to the function and installation of a memory card in a digital camera. The SIM cards come with an assigned number, are registered and ready to dial upon arrival.
What type of plan is it?
Spain Vodafone offers pre paid cell phone plans with no contract or service fees. You simply add more minutes as you go, with recharge cards available at the many tobacco stands, magazine kiosks, convenient stores and bars throughout Spain.
 Recharges are available in denominations of 5, 10, 25, 30 and 50 euros and are simply added by entering a revealed code into the phone.
