Numont School - British School Founded in 1962
This is a small family school located in a quiet, residential area in Madrid. Numont is a co-educational primary school for children between the ages of two and eleven - Nursery to Year 6. Numont strives to bring out the best in boys and girls of varying levels of ability. The pupil - teacher ratio is 11:1, which ensures that each child is able to receive the individual attention that he or she needs. The Institute for North American Studies, established in 1987, is devoted to teaching and scientific research in North American Studies. Fields of study include politics, history, literature, economics and sociology of North America. The Institute offers three distinct teaching programs; Masters in
American Studies, Spanish Studies Program, and Courses for American Teachers of Hispanic Origin. It maintains an interdisciplinary library with about 25,000 volumes on North American issues and publishes the Journal REDEN and a book collection on American Studies, as well as a website focused oninterdisciplinary topics in American Studies. Every year the Institute offers a number of scholarships to Spanish students wishing to study in the U.S. and an educational exchange program for students who wish to study in Spain.
