Receiving Jobseeker's allowance in Spain
It is possible to get Jobseekers allowance (contributions based only*) in Spain or another EEA country for up to three months. Your qualification to receive Jobseeker's allowance is dependent on:
- Your entitlement to contribution based Jobseeker's Allowance on the day you go abroad
- You have registered as a job seeker a minimum of four weeks before you leave
- You are available for and actively seeking UK work up until the point you leave
- You are going abroad to find work
- Registration with the equivalent Jobs Resource in the country where you will be going
- You comply with the rules and regulations in the country you are moving to for registering and finding work
* If you are leaving the UK permanently it is not possible to get Income Based Jobseeker's Allowance.
** If your stay abroad is only temporary, usually you cannot get income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
